Let’s do a spot-check hastily: Blawan bears one of the most discussed and contradictory persona of our days’ underground electronics, the praised newcomer producer of all techno journalists - he’s an anti-hero of the kind of the genre, without any discussion. Say that name again: he is going to be the first guest of Technokunst in 2013, playing in Hungary for the first time ever.

Now let’s put the case under elaborate examination, and see the explanation of the above-mentioned. Not that long ago, Jamie Roberts was still a celebrated figure of the UK garage/funky/bass wave sweeping through the globe. His experience as a drummer paid off at Hessle Audio, being one of the most prolific post-dubstep (or whatever you fancy calling it) tune-makers - causing a huge stir when he abandoned this position. He fell into techno while writing his first 4/4 track, for an apparent reason - just think about his collaboration as Karenn with Pariah, or as Trade with (yes, the mighty) Surgeon. This change obviously brought heaps of new fans to Blawan, needless to say, the haters showed up as well; for one reason: he brought a very fresh image to the quite static range of techno. A very introverted and angry, but still hip and creative image.

This bipolarity makes Blawan’s music so individual, operating with brutal, raw and dark elements, threaded through with playful rhythms and mind-boggling bass, it is kicking all traditions to the corner, returning to the final, ancient matter of repetitive dance music.

Isu’s set will guide you to Blawan’s journey, while Dorka will continue right where he stopped - visuals will be of course taken care of by the Glowing Bulbs (Kiégő Izzók) collective.
This night will be one of a kind, get down with us!

The Gloves are a new, wearable and stylish musical interface that allow you to manipulate sound by simply moving your hands. In a 4-day workshop, we invite you to explore how The Gloves can be integrated within your own projects, showing you how to connect data from the gloves with a wide range of music applications and environments. The Gloves Project is the work of a London-based team led by Grammy-winning vocalist and producer Imogen Heap, who uses the instruments in her own work.

Now, the project joins MusicMakers at CTM Festival, as part of a five-day hacklab of creative events.

If you’re interested in designing, wearing, testing, or hacking these gloves for your own purposes, you’ve come to the right place.

Introductory tutorials on how to connect and use The Gloves software with a range of existing software (Max/MSP, Ableton Live, Processing, Python…)

Day Two
Brainstorming session for participants to further define their ideas

Introduction to The Gloves hardware (circuit, sensors and code)
